Introduction to "Drum covers"

On YouTube you can find lots of drummers that record drumcovers. Some to show their skills, others share lessons to help others learn how to play certain songs. Some do both. Almost all of these drummers use an acoustic drumkit. The ones that use an electronic kit, usually play them like if it were an acoustic drumkit (for instance hi-hat on the left side, playing rim shots on the rim, etc.).

I have been playing electronic drums since the late 80's, both at home and on stage. I have developed a playing style that is different compared to 'acoustic drummers'. For instance, I usually place the closed Hi-Hat sound on my right side and the sounds of the Hi-Hat that I play with my foot are 'reversed'. For each drum cover that I will publish, there is a story to tell. My aim is to make drum covers that are different from those played on acoustic drums, to 'showcase' the possibilities of electronic kits.

I have already recorded a series drum covers in the past year. I recorded clips in fall, winter and summer. Each clip is recorded with multiple cameras. The 20 drum cover videos are linked to the 10 part video series 'Trick Or Cheat' in which I explain how I played the songs.
