Introduction to "How I Made My Drumkit"

I started drumming when I was 13, back in the 80's. First on an acoustic drumkit, but as soon as I saw electronic drums, I knew I wanted to switch to electronic drums. Beause I could not afford a new kit, I built my own in the late 80's.

I found that I did not only like playing, but I also liked designing and building electronic drums. So in 1993 I founded a company called Marcel Electronic Percussion. For 15 years I developed, manufatured and sold electronic percussion products through shops and through internet.

In the 90's I did fairly well, since the competition was aiming at professionals. But around the year 2000, the big brands lowered their prices. My sales went down a bit each year and I gradually I went on to do other things.

Eventhough I have stopped selling products, I still get regular emails from people asking me tips. I love to share my knowledge to help others. I figured that making a video series about my own drumkit, would be a good way to provide tips to other creative people out there. So here it is!
